Day 15, Vancouver Washington

We spent Tuesday catching up on travel chores (laundry, sorting brochures acquired along the way) and making the short drive from Albany to Vancouver, Washington.  En route we passed through the very beautiful city of Portland Oregon to which we returned for the evening to see Mike Nettleton in a dress rehearsal of an adaptation of Shakespeare’s The Tempest in Lovejoy Park.  The rehearsal was impressive and the show is going to be even more so.  The pictures show yours truly with our host, novelist Carolyn Rose. Below the newly bearded Mike (striped sweater)prepars to go on stage.  The stage was a terraced outdoor fountain and perfect for this play about a shipwreck, revenge and forgiveness.

After a pleasant evening getting to know Carolyn and Mike better we planned to tour the area for the next couple of days including a run to the Pacific, about 50 miles away, Columbia Gorge, Mount St Helen and the local restaurants.  Stay tuned.
